As part of the ongoing response to the Sex Discrimination Commissioner’s Respect@Work Report, the Federal Government made changes to the Sex Discrimination Act in late 2022.
One of the key changes was the introduction of what is known as a ‘positive duty - which basically means business owners must take measures to eliminate discriminatory conduct and sexual harassment from the workplace.
With new functions and powers being granted to the Australian Human Rights Commission to enforce compliance with this positive duty as of December 2023, it's vital you understand your obligations and make sure you are compliant.
Fiona Corbett, National Manager Workplace Advice for Australian Business Lawyers & Advisors (ABLA) will provide an overview of the latest changes, and also explain how ASGA Members can utilise the new ASGA Workplace Advice Line for advice and support on this, and a wide range of other matters.
The session will be FREE for ASGA Members, and $30 for non-members.
