TOP TURNOUT FOR VICTORIAN GOLF DAY

The final event in our 2025 ASGA Golf Series was held at the Heidelberg Golf Course in Melbourne last Thursday, with a record number of golfers turning up to enjoy 18 holes of Ambrose-style play, before being joined by a large contingent of other industry identities to celebrate the end of year over lunch and prize presentations. FUN AND FRIENDSHIP AT BOWLS EVENTS

The ASGA Social Bowls series for the year has concluded with Perth and Adelaide enjoying the now-proven format for fun and friendship is as popular as ever. Rain in WA kept the 20+ attendees off the greens, but the clubhouse still provided plenty of opportunity to catch up with industry colleagues over drinks and nibbles. In Perth, a crowd of 38 turned out for a competition headed by Ian Hayes from Spandex. Team Icon Signs, pictured left, made a 10-hour round trip to attend, and won the event aided by fourth team member Brad Marks (right) from ORAFOL . Our sincere thanks to Series Sponsor, ORAFOL for their ongoing support - we can't wait to 'bowl on' into 2026!

APPRENTICES KEEN TO JOIN YOUR TEAM

Considered employing an apprentice? Stretched thin for want or extra hands? Now could be a great time to put on a trainee! We have enquiries from prospective candidates in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Perth and the Busselton/Margaret River area - all keen to start an apprenticeship. The future rests on training a new generation of talent, but without good industry businesses to guide and mentor trainees as they complete their indentures, we can't bring them into our sector. And if we don't, you can be sure other industries will snap them up! Interested? Call Damian on 0448 274 211 or email mande@signs.org.au and we'll put you in touch.

FIXED TERM CONTRACT CHANGES

A new version of the Fixed Term Contract Information Statement (FTCIS) has been published by the Fair Work Ombudsman, following recent changes to additional fixed term contract exceptions. Since December 2023, there have been limitations on how fixed term contracts can be used, with some exceptions to when those limitations apply. Some of these limitations, relating to specific sectors and known as 'additional exceptions', were temporary but, from 1 November, some of these have been changed, ended or made ongoing. You can access the new version of the Statement via the Member Portal at signs.org.au (see below) or click the button for more information.

The holiday rush is coming - is your cash flow ready for it?

For many sign and graphics businesses, the busiest time of year also brings the biggest cash-flow squeeze. Materials, supplier payments, wages and deposits all hit well before your clients settle their invoices, and with the holiday break approaching, those delays can stretch even further.

That’s where ABL Corp can help.

Unlock cash tied up in unpaid invoices, before the year-end crunch hits. Our working capital finance gives you access to funds already sitting in your receivables, so you can keep projects moving and take on bigger orders without waiting for payment.

And because our funding grows with your invoicing, you stay prepared as demand ramps up.

Why sign & graphics businesses choose ABL Corp:

  • No property security - keep your home out of the equation
  • Funding that scales with your workload - perfect for seasonal spikes
  • Real-time bookkeeping & outsourced CFO support built into our model
  • Greater visibility heading into the new year so you can plan profitably

Finish the year strong, and start the next one with momentum. Whether you’re gearing up for last-minute client deadlines or preparing for January’s kick off jobs, reliable cash flow gives you the freedom to say yes instead of holding back.

Ready to get ahead before the break?

Call Rob Lamers, National Sales & Marketing Director, on 0413 066 990 or visit ablcorp.au to discuss how ABL Corp can support your workload over the holiday period.

SUPPORT THE COMPANIES THAT SUPPORT YOUR ASSOCIATION

HERE'S WHAT SOME OF OUR CURRENT MEMBERS SAY...

Our ASGA membership not only gives us access to important resources and expertise, it connects us to a network of like-minded businesses who can help to provide the understanding and support which can be so valuable when you are running a business.

- Ben Kemp - Sign Effects, Wodonga & Wangaratta

In my opinion membership of ASGA is a must. We’ve been part of the Association since Day One, and have used the member benefits on many occasions. In particular, having professional legal and workplace advice and counsel there when we need it is worth way more than the membership fee we pay. Money well spent for sure!”

– Dave, Signarama Redlands.

Amongst everything you are going through, we think you are doing an absolutely brilliant job and we are so grateful to be a part of this organisation, led by you and your team. Thank you for all you do.

- Sue, QLD

Just wanted to say a big thank you to you and team for all the general advice and updates throughout this year. If this isn’t a testament to being a ASGA member I don’t what is.

- Justin, VIC
